Edward is a very busy man who works in a chain of stores. As usual,
yesterday he came back home at eight o’ clock p.m. He
was so tired that he decided to go to bed immediately, after setting the alarm
clock for eight a.m. But, as he was
half asleep, he set it for nine p.m.
An hour later, when the alarm clock rang, he woke up and got up to have a glass
of water and something to eat, since that evening he hadn’t had dinner. When he
opened his bedroom door, he saw that everything was completely upside down.
Some burglars had broken into his house. Then he ran to see if his savings were
still there. At home he had 5000 euros
in total: in his safe he found 1700
euros, in his wallet 300 euros, in
his closet 200 euros. After that, he
went out and found, scattered, throughout the garden, other 400 euros, which the burglars had
surely lost while taking flight.
